Zowel de Nederlandse fansite BF1942.nl en de Engelse BF1942Match.com hebben twee screenshots toegestuurd gekregen van de makers van Battlefield 1942 die weer wat mooie plaatjes laten zien uit deze indrukwekkende World War 2 shooter waarbij de nadruk op voertuigen zal liggen. Battlefield 1942 is unlike any other Single player game, and the reason for that is; it isn't a single player game at all. BF1942 was designed right from the start to be a Multiplayer-online game, with up to 64 players on each map, the Single player mode, instead of being a completely different campaign, is exactly the same as the multiplayer mode, though the human factor is removed and replaced with these super-intelligent artificial soldiers.Starting in 1941 in the Pacific and ending in Western Europe in 1945, the player must complete each scenario to move onto the next, using whatever means available to accomplish the task they are given. There is no script, there is no story, "We bring you the war, now it's up to you to fight it". Compleet anders dan in Medal of Honor speelt dit spel zich af in een gebied waarin je volledig vrij kan bewegen. Je kan in een vliegtuig stappen en eroverheen scheuren, of met een auto er doorheen karren. Helemaal niets is scripted en elk potje zal anders zijn. Daarnaast zal dit spel ook in multiplayer hoge toppen gaan scheren, en zal net als zijn voorganger Codename Eagle nog lang menig LAN-party sieren.
