Op shacknews is te lezen dat Quake 1 voor een deel is geport naar de Half-Life engine. Het gaat niet om het gehele spel, maar alleen om de meest populaire deathmatchlevels. De levels die zijn omgezet zijn DM2, DM3, DM4, DM6 en E1M2.
De port is gemaakt voor Valve Softwares modteam met toestemming van ID Software.Well they didn't bring over the entire game. It's just deathmatch and only the 'cla ic' maps that were played so much when Quake was at the top of the heap. The maps that are included in DMC play and look nearly identical to the originals. The maps that will be included in the first release are:
DM2 - Claustrophobopolis
DM3 - The Abandoned Base
DM4 - The Bad Place
DM6 - The Dark Zone
