In Japan mochten gamers al kennis maken met de spectaculaire mechgame Steel Battalion. In het spel kreeg de speler de kans om met een mega grote (en dure) controller een paar ton wegende robot te besturen. Microsoft ziet in het spel dan ook weer een prachtig voorbeeld om aan te tonen hoe groot de kracht is van haar console.

Hiervoor werd dan ook een publishing deal gesloten met de maker van Steel Battalion, het Japanse developing / publishing huis Capcom.Capcom the japanese publisher/developer has even been linked with the ominous "megaton" announcement - with rumours suggesting that Nintendo could purchase the creator of such franchises as Street Fighter, Resident Evil and Mega Man. Not that we believe that for a second. Rumours have this habit of being total codswallop, particularly on the internet,and Microsoft certainly seems to have mi ed out on the chinese whispers,instead reminding us this morning that Capcom is launching a major Xbox title next year.
