Gamespot heeft een aantal nieuwe screens van The escape from Monkey Island online gezet. In totaal hebben ze nu 9 screenshots in de gallery staan.LucasArts sent GameSpot exclusive screenshots from Escape From Monkey Island, the fourth game in the Monkey Island series. This will be the first fully 3D Monkey Island game, and will use an enhanced version of the Grim Fandango engine. As can be seen in the screenshots, Escape From Monkey Island will take place in the same bright and colorful world as the previous games in the series, although this time the world is completely three-dimensional. The story will begin years after the end of the previous game and will involve many of the same characters, including the hero, Guybrush Threepwood.Escape From Monkey Island is expected to be released in the fall of 2000. De kwaliteit is niet verbazingwekkend goed van de screenshots, maar je krijgt een goede indruk. Het ziet er al 'minder' 3D uit dan in vorige screenshots en de sfeer uit voorgaande delen komt ook steeds beter terug!
