The first technology demo showed us water. Yes, you read correctly. Funcom has spent a lot of effort to create realistic water which will be a large part of the Midgard world in which you will live in. Ragnar increased and decreased the strength of the waves and you could see foam on the wave tops the stronger they grew. The waves themselves looked really amazing and you could not really say if they were real or not because every little detail was perfect; large waves had a lot of foam on them and bowed towards the front as they flushed through the (unfortunately very small) portion of the screen. We were quite impressed about what they did to us by simply showing us 50 square meters of an ocean :)
But that was not all. There was a light source in the air representing the sun which reflected on the water; the camera went under the water surface and you could see the sun rays coming through the surface and slowly vanishing within the depths where it shone on a whale slowly and gently making his way through the ocean. OK, so what was next?
