Our soldier quickly makes his way to a nearby helicopter and joins another soldier on the skids. There are attachment points for most of the vehicles in the game and all of the fixed weapon emplacements. While the actual mechanics of this are still a bit sticky, the idea is that a player would simply have to approach one of these attachment points, see the attach legend appear on the screen, the simply hit a key to link themselves to the object.

The helicopter takes off and joins with others as they head towards a nearby city. The visual created by dozens of these birds flying low over the desert is hard to describe. At any moment you can look around and see the other soldiers sitting on the skids of their copters as they weave back and forth on their (pre-scripted) path to the objective. Their legs sway back and forth during the flight and it gives the whole scene a relaxed or natural feeling.
