Eurogamer meldt dat de Everquest community danig op z'n kop ligt vanwege een onlangs uitgebrachte patch voor de uitbreiding van Everquest: Shadows of Luclin. Eén of andere rare bug in de bewuste patch veroorzaakte namelijk dat bij verschillende spelers de kleding en acce oires gewoon verdwenen. Met het gevolg dat vele EQ spelers nu een digitale verkoudheid hebben opgelopen. Gezien een groot gedeelte van de Everquest community uit de VS komt had dit natuurlijk grote morele en typisch Amerikaans hypocriete gevolgen. As with any good ma ively multiplayer role-playing game, Everquest's patches generally break as many things as they fix. The aftermath of a hurried upgrade to accommodate the Shadows of Luclin add-on pack has proven particularly entertaining though, as some players found themselves suddenly transported to a nudist colony. It seems that a bizarre bug which crept into the patch sometimes caused characters' clothing and armour to vanish, with amusing results. Rumours that this was an intentional "bug" to lure hormone-ridden gamers back from the table-dancing exploits of Anarchy Online remain unconfirmed. Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of the whole thing though is the revelation that Everquest characters have no nipples or genitalia. Freaky... Of deze bug bewust in het spel geplaatst is, of dat het een programmeur met humor was die verborgen code heeft geopend met deze patch is onduidelijk. Het meest lachwekkende is natuurlijk hoe sommige mensen reageren op dit soort 'onzedelijke' gebeurteni en.
