Slecht nieuws voor de gamers die wachten op Doom III, het spel verschijnt wat later op de markt dan verwacht. Ondanks alle verwachtingen dat het spel tijdens de feestdagen eind dit jaar in de schappen zou liggen, haalt ID Software dit niet. Het spel staat nu gepland voor het eerste kwartaal in 2004. Dit is bekend gemaakt tijdens de presentatie van de kwartaalcijfers van Activision.

Naast nieuws over Doom III is er ook gepraat over andere Activision titels. Quake 4, Rome: Total War en de console versie van Call of Duty staan gepland voor het fiscale jaar 2005, wat een datum tu en april 2004 en april 2005 inhoudt. Tevens verwacht Activision niet dat de volgende generatie consolsystemen voor eind 2005 op de markt verschijnen.Activision also had other game titles that were announced as being delayed, including True Crime: Streets of LA, which will be delayed from September until later in the fall of 2003 and the Gray Matter first person shooter Trinity which will be moved into sometime into the fiscal year 2005 (which begins on April of 2004). Activision execs also speculated during the conference call's Q&A se ion that they believe that the succe ors to the current game consoles won't show up until late 2005 at the earliest.
