Dat Disney de marketing van hun films altijd goed geregeld is de meeste van jullie waarschijnlijk wel opgevallen. Met de nieuwste film, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, gaan ze het wel groots aanpakken.
Vlak voordat de film volgende maand in premiere gaat worden er ruim 12 miljoen cd's verspreid met een gratis demoversie van Atlantis Online. Met deze speelbare demo kunnen geïntere eerde spelers zowel online als offline de wereld van Atlantis gaan verkennen. Tevens zal de demo als een prequel (populair tegenwoordig ) gelden voor de film.
A free game titled Atlantis: The Lost Empire -- Search for the Journal has been created as a prequel to the film Atlantis: The Lost Empire, which opens nationwide on June 15.
[..]In the film, an inexperienced adventurer joins a group of daredevil explorers to find the lost empire of Atlantis. In the Search for the Journal game, the secret of Atlantis is unveiled. The Shepherd's Journal, an ancient text holding all the secrets to finding Atlantis, is hidden somewhere in Iceland. Gamers navigate an ancient maze and battle guards to capture the journal. In the retail version, the team is rea embled to travel deep within the Earth's core to find Atlantis, fighting off a water-dwelling Leviathan and other denizens of Atlantis, navigating fire-infested mazes and sidestepping traps. Gamers will also find and activate four magical stones and save the Atlantis from volcanic destruction.
Dat het spel grafisch iets minder is dan dat we gewend zijn ligt voornamelijk aan de systeemeisen. Er wordt slechts een Pentium II 266 mhz , 64 mb RAM en 8 mb videokaart gevraagd.
