Cryo heeft onlangs het contract getekend voor het uitgeven van Stealth Combat, een in Duitsland ontwikkelde actiegame waarbij je met voertuigen het landschap kan verkennen. Het is ontwikkeld door een heel klein team en draait op een zelfgemaakte 3d engine die ze de naam "JARED-engine" meegegeven hebben. Blue Monday had een interview met de makers en vroeg onder andere waarom ze gekozen hadden voor dit concept:This has several reasons. Firstly, these games are quite rare, although the gameplay is very attractive: It is challenging to steer a heavy battle tank over rough terrain or to escape from hostile gunfire with a quick jeep. Also, there are not many games around which allow you to control totally different types of vehicles in one game like you can do in Stealth Combat. Most of them focus on one vehicle (chopper, tank, jeep etc.). But the JARED engine offers very detailed vehicle physics for all those different battle units. Of course the control functions can't be as complex as in a simulation game, because the player has to learn all of them, and so they are more action-orientated compared to true simulations. On the other hand, you don't need that much practice to control the vehicles.

Further, this type of gameplay does not show blood and bones flying around but "only" vehicles getting destroyed by ma ive explosions, which is seen as an advantage by us. We too like shooter games like Unreal or Counter Strike, but if it is not explicitly nece ary to show people dying, why should we do so?Opvallend is dat deze game geen multiplayer zal bevatten. In Duitsland komt deze game al over drie dagen uit, op 25 Februari, maar in de rest van Europa zullen we iets langer moeten wachten, omdat de deal met de uitgever pas gesloten is.
