Esports had behoefte aan meer info en interviewde Angel Munoz, de founder van CPL. Hierdoor komen we het volgende te weten:eSA: A lot of Quake 3 gamers feel that the CPL is being very ungrateful and callous towards the community by suddenly switching "loyalties" to Counter-Strike. Can you please respond to this?

Angel Munoz: We in fact believe that the Quake community also owes us a debt of gratitude for what we have done for them over the past 4 years. It is time to expand the league and we do it without regrets or second thoughts.

eSA: I understand that your new sponsor was one of the reasons why the CPL switched the main game from Quake 3 to Counter-Strike for the CPL World Championships. Is this true and, if so, why?

Angel Munoz: The CPL is solely responsible for expanding its horizons beyond Quake 3 and changing the game of the CPL World Championship. We did this without influence or coercion from any third party. Counterstrikes met een tekort aan zakgeld kunnen nu dus ook terecht bij de CPL.
