De echte retro arcade shooters onder ons zijn waarschijnlijk bekend met Beach Head 2000. Het doel van de Beach Head games is simpel. Scoor zoveel mogelijk punten door zoveel mogelijk tegenstanders af te schieten en zo naar het volgende level te gaan. Beach Head 2002 beloofde dan ook een echt strandfeest te worden, maar er is weinig feestelijks aan deze titel. Het vervolg op Beach Head 2000 heeft geen gameplay, geen graphics, geen muziek, geen multiplayer en geen houdbaarheid. Door het ontbreken van deze e entiele ingredienten is Beach Head 2002 voor niemand geschikt en scoort het spel ook een 3.Overall *** : As a lover of retro arcade shooters, I went into evaluating this title thinking that Beach Head 2002 would be exactly up my alley. Instead, I must sadly conclude that any opportunity to create a fun yet simple combat experience was truly squandered by the developer. What with so little variety in weapons, foes, or physical settings, the game loses what little charm it has in a mere matter of minutes. No aspect of the offering is up to current retail game standards, and most of it fails to qualify as a fulfilling minimum given current shareware thresholds either. You would think that since this is a sequel to Beach Head 2000 some depth, customizability and replay value would have been added, but such is generally not the case. So if you need to get out your aggre ive impulses by plugging enemies full of lead, go to a rifle range instead.
