Wat eerder als gerucht rond ging is waar: ATI gaat Microsoft helpen met de ontwikkeling van 'de toekomst van de Xbox'. Dit betekent feitelijk dat het niet nVidia, maar ATI zal zijn die de technologie voor de Xbox 2 zal gaan leveren.

Uit dit bericht maken we ook op dat ook Microsoft ziet dat nVidia langzamerhand niet meer de nummer één op het gebied van grafische kaarten is. ATI heeft vooral vanaf de launch van de Radeon 9700 PRO de harten van vele gamers gewonnen.
