Artisan Pictures heeft bekend gemaakt dat men de rechten heeft weten te bemachtigen om de House of the Dead en Alone in the Dark films in Noord Amerika uit te brengen. House of the Dead zou deze herfst moeten uitkomen terwijl men in juli begint met het filmen van Alone in the Dark. "Both films will offer distinctive fright appeal that caters to a growing audience of horror fans." Both of the horror movies are being directed by Uwe Boll of Boll KG Entertainment, whose previous credits include Sanctimony and Homeroom: Heart of America.
